HELENA DAVIES
Painter/Sculptor/Installation
Experimenting with sculpture, film with painting Helena Davis explores themes of collecting, archiving, identity, psychology, memory, growth and decay.
Her current work questions the concept of 'the self' through a series of self portraits. The rawness and vulnerability of the paintings confront the reality of a private self as opposed to the ideal version that is projected in public, and the conflict between these two ideas. She attempt to examine the complex relationships we have with ourselves, which can be simultaneously adverse and honest.
