CHERYL LUND
Painter
Cheryl Lund's work addresses objects that are dismissed in aspects of everyday life, producing large scale, textural paintings that are built up in layers with the use of oil paint.
She refers to her paintings as 'abstract interpretations of photographs' with her main inspiration being directed by her urban surroundings and corruption of buildings. Using photographs taken up close, her main interest lies in the focus of texture and colour, which is something she would like viewers to question and read into. By inviting the viewers to look at the subject in a different perspective, she interpretes the photographs into paintings that challenges the diversity of pain.
