ANTHONY PUJOL

Painter/Photographer/Graphic Designer

“I take a lot of inspiration from my dad; a man who had suffered a stroke back in 2007, being physically impaired on his right side of his body, to then being told two years later that he had been diagnose with thyroid cancer. Reflecting on those years, seeing someone adjusted to a role where they can no longer do the things they use to be able to do and submitting to the idea that they are more vulnerable to the world.

Watching him through his recovery and seeing the person that he is today, he now is someone who is more humble and meek that through family and faith you can overcome those difficulties, hardships and become a better person from it.

“In life it is strange to think when people say that sometimes you need to be broken in order to be fixed...my dad is just one of many examples of that.

Anthony Pujol's current series of work entitled 'You have to be broken in order to be fixed' looks into the aftermath of his father's recovery as he observes, reflects and photographs an interment view of his daily life.
